Our Agentic AI Centre of Excellence is a small, high-impact team shaping how AI agents can be safely deployed at scale within a regulated banking environment. We work at the frontier of what is technically possible, balancing speed, innovation and institutional constraints such as security, compliance and data protection.
We are looking for an exceptional Engineer / Data Scientist with hands-on experience building agentic AI systems and AI-powered applications. You combine strong software engineering fundamentals with data science fluency, and know how to move from proof of concept to production-grade, scalable solutions.
The role
You will join a multidisciplinary team with end-to-end ownership of AI solutions: from data ingestion and orchestration through to deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement. Your work will help shape responsible, cost-effective AI capabilities for millions of banking customers.
You will design, build and improve reusable AI building blocks, agent-based workflows and platform components that can be adopted across many technology teams. You will also collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, product teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into secure, compliant and practical solutions.
Key responsibilities
Design and implement scalable GenAI and agentic AI solutions using Azure services such as Azure OpenAI, Azure ML, AKS, Azure Functions and API Gateway.
Build Python-based microservices, automation tools and orchestration components for AI workflows.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Bicep and Kong.
Work with agentic AI frameworks such as LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, LangChain or comparable technologies.
Support prompt engineering, chaining, memory management and multi-step AI workflow design.
Ensure security, compliance, performance and operational excellence across AI workloads.
Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to a culture of technical quality, learning and innovation.
Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on GenAI strategy and delivery.

You bring strong ownership, resilience and communication skills. You are comfortable pitching ideas, influencing stakeholders and collaborating across engineering and business teams. You understand AI beyond the hype and can quantitatively assess whether an agent performs well in practice.
Required experience
Shipped at least one AI-powered product used by real users in production, ideally an agentic or multi-step AI system.
8+ years of hands-on software development experience.
Strong Python skills.
Strong cloud and DevOps experience.
Practical experience with agentic AI frameworks such as LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen or similar.
Experience with Azure-based AI and platform services.
Experience working in Agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience mentoring juniors or leading technical teams.
