Data Platform Engineer -| Banking Client
About the role
As an IT Data Platform Engineer, you will work as an active member of the team while also guiding technical direction. You will bridge the gap between the current and future architecture, ensuring solutions are practical, scalable, and implemented step-by-step.
You will:
– Design end-to-end solutions and translate business requirements into technical architecture
– Develop and optimize data pipelines using Python, PySpark, and SQL
– Work hands-on with Databricks (clusters, notebooks, orchestration, optimization)
– Lead and mentor team members on technical implementation
– Drive performance tuning, debugging, and monitoring
– Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred)
– Collaborate closely with Product Owner and team in Agile/Scrum setup
Responsibilities
– Lead E2E system design and implementation
– Guide the team in delivering robust, scalable solutions
– Break down architecture into deliverable increments
– Ensure high-quality engineering practices (testing, monitoring, logging)
– Align solution design with enterprise standards
– Support continuous improvement and DevOps practices
– Experience with performance tuning and large-scale data processing
– Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Bicep preferred)
– Experience with CI/CD (Azure DevOps is a plus)
