As a Technical Application Engineer, you play a key role in ensuring the stability and performance of the business-critical applications that form the backbone of the organization. You make sure systems run seamlessly, securely, and efficiently – from the operational floor to the boardroom.
In this role, you connect technology, business, and operations. You translate business needs into reliable technical solutions and actively contribute to improving the way we manage, secure, and optimize our application landscape.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability of essential business applications
- Analyze and resolve incidents and problems, implementing changes via the DTAP process
- Manage updates, patches, and technical configurations in coordination with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Safeguard application security and compliance with internal and external audit requirements
- Translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications and documentation
- Deliver technical solutions for projects, updates, and new implementations
- Provide 3rd-line support and act as the technical point of contact for Service Desk and business teams
- Continuously improve documentation, workflows, and operational processes
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience as a Technical Application Engineer (or similar technical role) in a complex IT environment
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, web hosting, databases (MS SQL, Oracle), and Citrix
- Understanding of IT networks, firewalls, encryption, and other security-related technologies
- Experience with ServiceNow, documenting workflows, and writing SOPs and user guides
- Familiarity with cloud and SaaS technologies (Azure, AWS, etc.) is a strong plus
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus)
- Proactive, structured, and eager to continuously learn and improve
