API Integration Architect | Long-Term Project | Financial Enterprise
The API Integration Architect collaborates with DevOps teams and management to ensure that new or modified applications comply with the bank’s regulations and those set by external authorities. In this role, you will serve as the primary expert for creating APIs within the Grids and implementing the API Lead Circle model. You’ll work closely with EIT teams, API Leads, Product Owners, architects, and IT/Business leaders to ensure the API landscape is robust, scalable, and high-performing. Additionally, you will manage a central API Circle, providing support through training, coaching, education, and fostering a community where API Leads can exchange knowledge and seek assistance.
Key Deliverables:
- Establish and efficiently maintain the API Lead Circle.
- Train and educate all API Leads across the Grids, including creating and implementing a process for onboarding new API Leads.
- Develop and sustain an API Community (both per Grid and bank-wide) to support and mentor API Leads.
- Gather positive feedback from stakeholders on the value provided by the API Lead Circle.
- Regularly report on the progress and implementation of the API Leads.
Required Skills and Expertise:
- Proficiency in data, application, and integration architecture.
- Experience in API development, including knowledge sharing, teaching, and coaching.
- Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design, resource modeling, and business analysis.
- Strong background in knowledge sharing, teaching, coaching, and consulting, with excellent communication and persuasion skills.
- Expertise in Open API specifications, API design principles, REST, YAML, XML, WSDL, UML.
- Advanced development skills in modern programming languages and a solid understanding of API security patterns (e.g., OAuth 2.0, JWT).
- Experience with tools such as Bitbucket, Sparx Enterprise Architect, Swagger, and Postman.
