Work on a high-impact data platform within a leading financial institution, focusing on mortgage systems and critical data flows. As a Java Developer with strong Oracle expertise, you will contribute to building and maintaining a modern datastore in an agile environment, using technologies such as Java, SQL, and Azure DevOps.
About the role
As a Java Developer, you are responsible for the design, development, and operation of a new datastore supporting mortgage data exchange. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and develop backend solutions using Java and Oracle (SQL / PL/SQL)
- Build and maintain data integrations and data quality frameworks
- Support IT Risk & Security controls and contribute to audits
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues using monitoring and alerting tools

About you
- 4+ years of experience in Java backend development
- Strong experience with Oracle RDBMS, SQL, and PL/SQL
- Experience with data engineering, data integration, and data quality
- Familiar with Agile (Scrum or Kanban) ways of working
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in complex, regulated environments
Nice to have:
- Experience with Kafka (Streams, Connect, Schema Registry)
- Knowledge of Docker / Kubernetes
- Experience with Azure DevOps and automation tooling (e.g. Ansible)
- Experience with API development
- Knowledge of IT Risk & Security within financial services
