Application Security Consultant | Long-term Project | Financial Services Client

We are looking for…

An experienced Application Security Consultant who can bridge security and software development by performing in-depth security reviews, identifying vulnerabilities, and guiding development teams towards secure coding practices. You will play a key role in reducing enterprise risk by embedding security throughout the application lifecycle and providing expert advisory services across projects and initiatives.

About the role

As an Application Security Consultant, you are responsible for assessing application security risks, reviewing software architecture and code, and advising development teams on security best practices.

You will:

• Perform secure code reviews to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigations.
• Conduct security assessments, threat modelling exercises, and architecture reviews for new and existing applications.
• Utilize and manage application security testing tools, including SAST, DAST, and SCA solutions.
• Validate, analyze, and prioritize security findings and support development teams during remediation efforts.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure security requirements are effectively integrated into projects.
• Translate complex technical risks into clear, business-focused recommendations.
• Support the implementation and adoption of secure coding standards, security controls, and best practices.
• Provide guidance on application security architecture, cloud security, and cybersecurity principles.
• Monitor remediation progress and drive timely resolution of identified vulnerabilities.

Experience

• Proven experience in Application Security, Security Engineering, or Cybersecurity Consulting.
• Hands-on experience with SAST, DAST, and Software Composition Analysis (SCA) tools.
• Experience conducting secure code reviews and application security assessments.
• Strong understanding of modern software development practices and secure SDLC methodologies.
• Experience with cloud security concepts and application security architecture.
• Experience working in complex enterprise environments.

• Hybrid working environment.
• On-site presence in Amstelveen may be required depending on project assignments.
• Consultant must comply with all company security, compliance, and governance requirements.
